Welcome to the Association for sTEm Teacher Education
As our Nation emphasizes the importance of the integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in our secondary education classrooms, very little has been implemented to assist in the preparation and professional development of these STEM teachers. This is especially true with the "application heart of STEM," engineering and technology education.
The mission of the Association for sTEm Teacher Education is to advance and promote excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics teacher education emphasizing the technology and engineering areas of teacher education. The Association accomplishes this goal by providing opportunities for professional improvement for its members, promoting cooperation among STEM teacher education groups, and serving as an advocate for engineering and technology teacher education.
The Journal of sTEm Teacher Education is the refereed publication of the Association for sTEm Teacher Education and is published three times annually. The Journal's manuscripts focus on teacher preparation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with special focus on the "T&E," hence the Association’s use of the acronym sTEm.
The Association holds its annual meeting at the annual conference of the Association for Career and Technical Education Conference. This year's conference and Association meetings will be held in St. Louis, Missouri November 17-18, 2011. Our Opening Session will be held the afternoon of Thursday, November 17th, and our research symposium will be on Friday afternoon, November 18th.
The Association for sTEm Teacher Education would welcome your membership, your publication in the Journal of sTEm Teacher Education, and your participation at its annual conference. Thank you for your professional commitment to the field of STEM teacher education. I look forward to your active involvement in the Association for sTEm Teacher Education and your publication in the Journal of sTEm Teacher Education.
Sincerely,
George E. Rogers, Ed.D., DTE
